Launch of The Kotet Alumni Association Part 2

Someone once said that, words are very powerful because they have the ability to affect our lives. If you are always thinking and talking negatively then you attract negative energy in your life and the reverse is also true.
The Holy Bible says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (Proverbs 19:21) All I am saying is choose your words carefully.

Mary Ward was a very intelligent woman. If she was alive today she would be one of the great professors in philosophy and theology. Her ideologies were more advanced than the time she came from. Mary Ward was not afraid to stand for what she believed in and never shied away from fighting for women’s rights.

Whenever I speak about Loreto Limuru I find myself mentioning Mary Ward. Her spirit must be reaching out to me and I am willing to accept the call.

”… women in time to come will do much.” These powerful words by Mary Ward have already manifested themselves in this century and not just by Loreto Limuru Alumni. In Kenya, there are more than 10 Loreto schools and yesterday they met with the agenda of uniting efforts so as to achieve the dreams of Mary Ward.

What is happening now is just the start. The Loreto Sisters in Kenya under the leadership of Sister Stephanie want a united voice for Loreto girls. Each school has to devise a way to working together as alumni.

Working together for a better tomorrow has never been an issue for Loreto girls. These are girls of different ideologies, professions and generations and coming together can bring change to this country not just the Loreto schools. Be prepared dear readers because the time that Mary Ward was speaking about has come and there is nothing we can do to stop what is happening.

Combining the old techniques used by those from the 1950s – 1970s and the digital techniques of 1980s – 2000s will be the greatest challenge for the Loreto girls. They have an option of working together and overcome the generation challenge or work under their different generations (which I think would be easier) and have a cross-generational committee to monitor individual efforts.

Dear Loreto girls, the world is watching to see the words of Mary Ward becoming reality. Please do not disappoint us especially me because the Mary Ward spirit has already touched me.

Despite the obvious challenge, let us not forget The Loreto High School, Limuru Alumni Association Launch on 2nd May 2014 at the Sarova Panafric. My dress is ready and would love to see you there.
