The online market is growing everyday and it has
exponential potential. The Internet has opened up opportunities especially for
writers both trained and untrained. Unlike
the old times when the dailies were
followed religiously, now news and information is easily available.
Despite it being easily accessible the online
market is very dynamic and requires some skills if a person is to make money.
Mr. Walter Akolo a freelance writer,
blogger and Internet Marketer has studied the online market and has taken the
initiative to share the secret of making money online with armatures.
On 1st March 2013, Mr. Walter
organised a seminar focusing on How to Build a Profitable Web Business.
Even though he has been doing Internet marketing for a while this was his first
seminar. For a first timer, Mr. Walter did an excellent job as he was able to
attract 34 people who were thirsty for knowledge.
Just like any other event, the seminar had a few
setbacks. To begin with, Mr. Walter had to shift the venue from the Pearl
Palace Hotel in Pangani to the Ebony House next to Tuskys along Tom
Mboya Street. The other thing was reducing the charges from Ksh.
1,200 to Ksh.500. His move was meant to ensure that everyone was able to
attend the seminar especially start ups.
The setbacks did not hinder him from imparting
knowledge. He was able to teaching the following:
1.
The two ways of making money online i.e. working for someone
(freelancing) or selling something (internet marketing).
2.
An in-depth analysis of freelancing together with its pros and
cons.
3.
A focus on internet marketing together with pros and cons. It was concluded
that internet marketing is more rewarding in terms of returns and personal
branding as compared to freelancing.
4.
Mr. Walter was kind enough to expose some internet marketing areas
that he has made lots of cash in and he shared tips on how to achieve the same.
5.
He also welcomed people to invest in FreelancerKenya one of the
fastest growing Kenyan online brand.
6.
Mr. Walter has some products that he sells online and he taught
the group on how to become an affiliate for those products and get 20% from
them.
7.
After his lecture he had a long engaging Q&A session which was
the whole aim of the seminar.
Due to the positive feedback, Mr. Walter is planning to have the
event monthly and in different counties if possible. He is also working towards
correcting his mistakes and promises a well planned event next time.
If you missed out on the event you have the opportunity to get the
knowledge by purchasing the notes for as little as Kshs. 500 from Walter. Send the money to 0720 754 933 and then notify him with a text.
