Building and Maintaining Friendships During Events

December was a month full of events. If you did not attend a graduation ceremony, you attended a wedding, a birthday, a baby shower, a picnic, a house party
you name it. If you were not invited to any kind of event it is time to get social so as to get an invite this year.

There are times we attend events and feel left out and unappreciated which often causes a strain in our friendships. We go to events so as to interact with our friends, have a good time and building new relations. However, there comes a risk of achieving our objective when we feel left out.

Making everyone feel appreciated and avoiding the negative talk after an event especially weddings is something that should be given priority. Achieving this is a great challenge especially when you have a large number of guests.

The first thing that people complain about is getting lost as they search for the ceremony’s venue especially for weddings. To avoid this, make sure when you send your invitations make the directions to your venue as clear as possible. You should also have contact persons who will provide directions for people during the event.

If you are planning to prepare a meal for your guests, make sure the food is enough for everyone. People hope to get something to eat when they attend your event and when someone spends a whole day there will nothing to eat, I’m sure you know the outcome. At times the turn out may be higher than expected so communicate with your caterers and ensure that they share equally what is available.

Finally it is important to thank your guest after an event. You can achieve this by either having gift hampers in form of small tokens that you issue out at the end of the event or you can send out thank you messages after the event. Make sure you get the contact and details of all your guests.

A great event is not one that people eat to their fill but one that guests feel appreciated. Make sure you have the best event this year.
