Worst Investments Ideas In Kenya This Far

The gap between the rich and the poor widens each day despite efforts by the poor to elevate their status. The gullible Kenyans
have found themselves in situations that have left them poorer as they attempt to cross the bridge to riches.

It all started with the pyramid scheme that appeared to be our financial messiah with the promise of immediate multiplication of investments. Talk of financial miracles. At first it seemed like all Kenyans will finally have the chance to meet their wants and not just basic needs. Our dreams were crushed when it turned out to be a scheme that had robbed Kenyans $8.9M.

Kenyans are not the giving up time so when the wave of commercial rabbit rearing came people did not hesitate to jump in. What followed was a flooded market and a lower demand for the rabbits resulting to loses for the farmers.

Then came the Safaricom IPO and the quest for wealth only became stronger. Thousands of Kenyans bought the shares and some even went to the extent of getting loans. Once again we made the mistake of investing in one area and some people had to be give back there money.

We are yet to see the end of the rushed investments. Today, thousands of Kenyans have invested heavily in quails farming. I will not join others and intimidate the hardworking Kenyans by calling it a pyramid scheme. The market is almost saturated and the prices of the bird plus its eggs has drop tremendously.

I can see the faces of disappointed Kenyans who are putting in endless efforts to elevate their economic standards. Climbing up the ladder is beginning to appear as a dream if not a fantasy for many Kenyans. The high unemployment rate only adds salt to injury. It is not fair to judge people who jump into investments.

Do not mistake me for a financial consultant but I have some words of wisdom to share; research before investing. It is good to follow your gut but it is better to back it with research. Our major downfall appears to be following the crowd and jealousy to some extend. We can flourish in different fields let us not flood one.
