We are still in the new
year celebration mood and I know the resolutions and plans we made for 2014 are
still fresh. Most of us have no idea of where the resources to achieve what we
desire will come from. Worse still we have even carried the disappointments of
2013 to 2013. Today
I have a word of
encouragement.
Approximately 90% of
Kenyans are Christians but very few of us display traits of true believers. We
have lost our faith and have instead focused on our ability which is a perfect
recipe for disappointment.
Today let us remember
the one we serve. David was a man of faith and it is because of this that he
was able to face Goliath.
“Then
said David to the Philistine, You come to me with a sword, and with a spear,
and with a shield: but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God
of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.” 1Sam17:45
Another man of faith
was Job. He remained faithful to God even when everything was taken away from
him. God rewarded him by multiplying his wealth and even gave him the most
beautiful daughters that have ever been seen in the face of the earth.
“So
the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had
fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen,
and a thousand she asses. He had also seven sons and three daughters.” Job
42:12-13
I am sure you have not
gone through what Job or David faced so you have no reason to lose your faith.
The Bible says, “They that trust in the
Lord shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abides for ever” Psalm125:1.
My message today is,
put your trust in the Lord and all your needs and wants shall be met. Stop
worrying too much about things you have no control over.
“But
seek you first the kingdom of God and His righteousness: and all these things
shall be added to you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow
shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient to the day is the evil thereof.”
Matthew 7:33-34.
